A bit about myself
Art is about taking important personal insights on real issues and using that to create a manifestation that teaches people a certain point of view. I made the decision to, immerse myself in art because I had a variety of interests, and art was something that encompassed all of them. My biggest motivation as well as the inspiration behind the art I make stems from the media I consumed as a child. I always loved stories, especially graphic ones whether they were told through comics, movies, and videogames.
As I became older and started to go deeper into the realm of fine art, I started picking up some fascinating philosophical concepts from my humanities studies that allowed me to learn and explore, adding more nuance to my artwork and transformed my making from the simple motive of mere escapism. My beloved mediums of animation and comics, inspired my method of expression starting out as just drawing, whether it was with paper and graphite or digitally. As I made my way through the art programs of El Camino Community College and the Department of Art Practice, UC Berkeley, I branched out to include sculpture, painting, and printmaking. Though I have dabbled in many things, the bulk of my work consists of mostly drawing and sculpture. As of late the work I make has the common themes of existential dread, specifically about the future of the world and the human race. This includes topics such as the environmental crisis, the field of AI, and transhumanism.
